Mike Penning has welcomed confirmation from The Mallard Harvester’s owners, Mitchell & Butlers, that customers who wrongly received fines after using the car park last year will not be pursued for payment.
Absolute Parking Management (APM) who managed the car park until last November have agreed not to pursue Harvester’s customers for payment and no debt collection action will be taken.
Mike Penning said: “This is great news for Harvester customers and I am very pleased with this result. It took a long time to sort out and caused a lot of people distress and worry but we have the right result in the end.”
In their letter to Mr Penning, Mitchell & Butlers legal team said: “We are extremely sorry for the understandable inconvenience and distress which these parking charge notices have caused individuals. Thank you and your constituents for your patience whilst we have sought to resolve this matter.
“However, we hope that you will also understand that it was precisely because of the behaviour of APM towards our customers that we terminated the arrangement with APM in November.”
