Hemel Hempstead MP, Sir Mike Penning visited Remembrance displays at local schools this week.
Mike said:
“I am proud that so many of our local schools have engaged in this year's Remembrance commemoration. Last year Galley Hill school set the standard very high and they have done a fantastic job again. We have some outstanding displays from many schools, and across all year groups, this year.
“I was delighted to attend a particularly thoughtful service and see the fabulous display at Longdean School. All who were involved can be very proud.”
Sue Rose, Poppy Appeal Organiser and Chairman of the Royal British Legion (Hemel Hempstead) Branch said:
“We are absolutely delighted with the efforts put in by local schools. Some of the artwork has been truly outstanding and I congratulate everyone involved.
“It is so important that the sacrifices made on our behalf are never forgotten. It is very encouraging that today’s young people continue to recognise that and take an active part in Remembrance.”
